Objectives

To identify solutions for counteracting the misleading tactics of the industry by identifying the behavioral and social mechanisms explaining the decisions for initiating and continuation of novel and emerging products (with focus on HTPs) use as well as for switching from cigarette use, in the context of largely advertising and promotion for HTPs

Results

 

  • “Who, how and why use novel and emerging tobacco products?” –  It will be disseminated as at least 2 articles submitted to Open Access journals and will be translated in Romanian language and distributed to Romanian parliamentarians and NGOs involved in tobacco control activities (as part of advocacy support for regulating advertising, promotion and use in public enclosed spaces of novel and emerging tobacco products). It will also be presented and distributed during webinars, conferences and to universities. 
  • „Misleading tactics used by the industry to attract young people for using novel and emerging products”
  • Educational materials to be used in social media and which will be developed according to the information obtained in studies. These materials will be distributed through social media (according to a media plan) and to NGOs with activity in tobacco control.
